PLAY BALL! The City of Dardenne Prairie brings you a recreational spring softball and baseball league. Dardenne Prairie Parks and Recreation is part of the New Horizons Youth Baseball League (NHYBL). This league consists of Wentzville, New Melle, Flint Hill, Dardenne Prairie, and Wright City. Players/Teams participating in 7U League or older are a part of the NHYBL. Players/Teams participating in T-Ball or Coach Pitch Baseball are not a part of the NHYBL and will play solely at City Hall Park here in Dardenne Prairie.

Being a part of Dardenne Prairie recreational baseball league you will have the opportunity to have scheduled practices at our fields located at City Hall Park, scheduled time in the batting cages, along with the opportunity to join all Dardenne Prairie teams at a select Cardinals game!

CLICK HERE and use the USSSA Age Calculator.

PRACTICES

Practices for 7U baseball/8U Softball and older will begin the weekend of March 9th. During the preseason, teams may practice twice per week, one hour during the week and one and half hour on the weekend (up to 2.5 hours per week). Teams will be scheduled for batting cages typically one hour before or one hour after practice, as able. This will continue until games begin on the week of April 8, then teams will be given 1.5 hours per week field time and 1 hour batting cage time (usually before or after scheduled field time on Saturday or Sunday).

T-Ball and Coach Pitch teams will be given 1.5 hours per week and will only practice on weekends beginning in March. Games will typically be scheduled on Thursday evenings only. If you have any questions, please email Nichole

* Please note that practice times are ultimately decided by the volunteer coach and may vary from what's above.

GAMES

Games will start the week of April 8th. Teams registered through Dardenne Prairie will play their homes games at City Hall Park and will play a minimum of half their games at home; away games will be played at any of the cites listed above including Dardenne Prairie. Games will be played Monday through Friday at either 6:00 PM or 8:00 PM and game length can be found in the rule book below. We will keep score and standings for all NHYBL games (7U and older) and 1st and 2nd place teams in each division receive trophies by their home associations.

EQUIPMENT

Players in 7U and higher will have to provide their own baseball glove and batting helmet.  Recommended equipment would be a baseball bat and cleats, but these are not required. Note that metal spikes/cleats are not permitted on any league field. Teams playing 7U and up will order their own uniforms once teams are established and start practicing. A team parent and/or coach will take the lead on uniform orders.

T-Ball and Coach Pitch teams will be provided 5 batting helmets to use for the season, baseballs (safe-t-soft level 3) and practice/game balls. The City will also provide uniforms shirts for those participating in T-Ball or Coach Pitch Baseball.

The Bat Rule will be the same as the USSSA.

7.01.C All bats for age divisions 14U and younger must be permanently stamped with the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Mark (Chart 7.01.C), or BBCOR.50 Certified Mark or made of wood and manufactured by a licensed USSSA manufacturer. 7.01.C.1 Effective January 1st, 2020, all 13U players must use a maximum drop 8 (-8) bat with the official USSSA 1.15 BPF Mark permanently stamped. 7.01.C.2 All 14u players must use a maximum drop 5 (-5) bat with the official USSSA 1.15 BPF Mark Permanently stamped.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION FEES & CATEGORIES

This registration is for individuals who do not have a team already and all partial teams. Dardenne Prairie Recreation will place you on a team. Partial teams will most likely be placed in the silver division, and individual registration teams will most likely be placed in the bronze division. Please remember that this league is based on volunteer coaches to manage teams. If you wish to play with a certain coach or player, you can put that in the notes section when you register. We will do our best to accommodate but there is no guarantee of this request.

Cancelations will only be accepted until the first practice, which is the weekend of March 9.  Refunds will not include the processing fee. After March 9th, no refunds will be issued due to start of practice and season.

Deadline to register is February 19th or until full. Any remaining roster spots will remain open until after the deadline, so please check for availabilities by selecting the link above.

***Please note if a league is showing "Full" please put your child on the wait list as we’ll create teams when possible***

Coaches that utilize team registration will most likely be in the gold division (or highest division).

Deadline to register is February 19th or until full.
