The Dardenne Prairie Board of Aldermen consists of the Mayor and six Board members. The Mayor is elected at-large, which means that he/she represents the entire city and that all registered voters may vote on the Mayor. The Aldermen are elected to represent the ward in which they reside. There are three wards.

The Mayor holds office for a term of four years. The responsibilities of the Mayor include serving as the chief executive officer of the City, attending and presiding over Board of Aldermen meetings, veto powers over legislation and appointing members of various Boards and Commissions.

The Board of Aldermen is made up to six members, two from each of the wards. Board of Alderman members hold office for a term of two years. The responsibilities of the Board of Aldermen include allocating funds, encouraging economic development, establishing local laws known as ordinances, establishing capital improvements, and setting goals. 

Meetings occur bi-monthly on the first (1st) and third (3rd) Wednesday at 6 pm in the Board Chambers located at 2032 Hanley Rd., Dardenne Prairie, MO 63368
