Friends & Neighbors,
The Dardenne Prairie Board of Aldermen met tonight in Special Session to receive a petition for voluntary annexation of the Gilmer property into the City. The Gilmer property consists of two parcels (about 15 and 17 acres) located just north and south of Rte. 364 and west of Bryan Road. The north parcel is located next to Pinnacle Point and Dardenne Meadows. The south parcel is located on Highway N right across from Walgreens. The property was in unincorporated St. Charles County and is being shopped by the owners to developers.
The Board of Aldermen approved a “pre-annexation agreement” and passed an ordinance that officially annexed the property into the City. The north parcel is being marketed for residential development (not apartments) and the south parcel for commercial development.
Next Tuesday, April 4, is election day. Residents are urged to Vote YES on the five propositions A, B, C, D and E which call for annexation of five parcels into the City. Props A and B relate to the Gilmer property which were annexed tonight. Props C, D and E relate to 3 parcels (under half an acre each) located on Technology Drive just east of the Phillips 66 station and south of Town Square Shopping Center.
The next meeting of the Board of Aldermen is Wedenesday, April 5, 2017. Workshop opens at 5:30 and the regular meeting starts at 7:00. Come see your City Government at work!
