City Statement
In light of the incident last week in the City of O’Fallon, several residents have voiced concern pertaining to the operations of Gateway Fiber and other entities performing work within the City rights-of-way near utility lines. The City is closely monitoring all such activity being conducted within the City of Dardenne Prairie, and are in communication with those performing such work in the City to ensure that any work performed is consistent with all applicable safety standards and practices. Although State Law severely limits the City’s authority to regulate work performed within City rights-of-way, the City will enforce its authority to the fullest extent permitted by law to ensure the safety of the residents of the City of Dardenne Prairie.
