Parents: We are currently forming teams and assigning coaches. You will hear from your coach around the beginning of March, after our coach meeting. If you haven't received a message by March 14, please email nichole@dardenneprairie.org. Practices can start in March, and games will begin in April.

League Overview:
The City of Dardenne Prairie offers a recreational spring softball and baseball league through the NHYBL, which includes teams from Wentzville, New Melle, Flint Hill, Dardenne Prairie, and Wright City. Teams in the 7U league or older are part of the NHYBL, while Coach Pitch teams will play exclusively at City Hall Park.Practice Schedule:

Game Schedule:
- Start Date: April
- Home Games: City Hall Park (minimum of half games at home)
- Game Days: Monday to Friday at 6:00 PM or 8:00 PM
- Standings and scores will be kept for all NHYBL games (7U and older). Trophies will be awarded to the top teams in each division.

Equipment Requirements:
- 7U and Older: Players must provide their own glove and batting helmet. Metal spikes are not allowed. Teams will order their own uniforms once established.
- Coach Pitch: The league will provide batting helmets, baseballs, Batting T, and uniforms.
Batting Regulations:
Bats for players aged 14U and younger must be stamped with the USSSA 1.15 BPF Mark or BBCOR.50 Certified Mark.Registration Fees & Categories:
This registration is for individuals without a team or partial teams. Dardenne Prairie Recreation will assign players to teams. Partial teams are usually placed in the silver division, while individual registrations go to the bronze division. Requests to play with specific coaches or players can be noted, but cannot be guaranteed.Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations are accepted until the first practice (weekend of March 8). Refunds will not include processing fees. No refunds will be issued after March 8.Deadline to Register:
February 9 or until full. Any registrations not on a waitlist, after February 9, a late fee will be added.If a league is full, please add your child to the waitlist. They will be shared with other cities in an attempt to help you find placement.
Team Registration Fees:
Teams of 10-15 players can register as a full team to avoid adding extra players later. Coaches should complete a team roster and submit it to the League Supervisor. Team registrations are typically placed in the higher division.Coach Information:

The Umpire In Chief provides excellent umpire training clinics. Since this is a requirement for new umpires, the clinics are free of charge and are provided both in-house and on-the-field. We are looking for boys and girls, men and women, who are committed, enthusiastic, and willing to work hard.

NEXT UMPIRE MEETING/TRAINING
If you would like to umpire for the New Horizons League, plan on attending the New Umpire Orientation at Dardenne Prairie City Hall (2032 Hanley Rd). This meeting will last around 2 hours and will provide basic information regarding umpiring with us and some league rule information. Umpires will then attend up to two more meetings (one per week), depending on the qualifications they fall under, that also start at 6pm. Please note the dates and locations listed and complete the paperwork under the "Sign Up" section to bring to the first meeting you attend. For those who are new to umpiring, please email Nichole at Nichole@dardenneprairie.org and let her know you'll be attending the new Umpire Orientation or if you have any questions.

The Umpire Clinics will be held in the evening hours starting mid-March. Once registered umpires will receive more information on training dates/times.
* In order to umpire at the City of Dardenne Prairie you must register for direct deposit and provide W9 even if you umpire in other league cities.
Dardenne Prairie Coach Pitch baseball games will be played during the week at Dardenne Prairie Athletic Complex. All players will receive a participation trophy for playing.
Practices for 7U baseball/8U Softball and older will begin the weekend of March 9th. During the preseason, teams may practice twice per week, one hour during the week and one and half hour on the weekend (up to 2.5 hours per week). Teams will be scheduled for batting cages typically one hour before or one hour after practice, as able. This will continue until games begin on the week of April 8, then teams will be given 1.5 hours per week field time and 1 hour batting cage time (usually before or after scheduled field time on Saturday or Sunday).
T-Ball and Coach Pitch teams will be given 1.5 hours per week and will only practice on weekends beginning in March. Games will typically be scheduled on Thursday evenings only.
* Please note that practice times are ultimately decided by the volunteer coach and may vary from what's above.
Weekend practices may be postponed or cancelled if a tournament or other City activity is taking place.
