Welcome to the City of Dardenne Prairie...from the Mayor

Welcome to the City of Dardenne Prairie, the heart of the golden triangle in St. Charles County. Small and quaint, Dardenne Prairie maintains a    rural flavor in a suburban setting. If you are considering moving your family or business to the St. Charles County area, you’ll find our City a great place to be. Our City boasts acres and acres of natural parks, beautiful residences, several thriving business plazas and an industrial park. With a new Downtown area, private high school and City Hall in the works, Dardenne Prairie is a wonderful place to live, work and play. Easy access to both Highway 40/61 and Highway 70, plus the new Page Avenue Extension when completed, make Dardenne Prairie accessible to the entire Metropolitan area. Browse through our website and get to know Dardenne Prairie. We welcome you to our City.

Sewer Line Smoke Testing

Starting during the week of July 19, 2010 and continuing through August, Water District personnel will be smoke testing the sewer lines in the area, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Smoke testing of the sewer lines is performed to help ensure the sewer lines and manholes are tight and not collecting excess storm water. During the sewer line testing process, harmless smoke is pumped through the sanitary sewers. The smoke we use to test the sewer system is not harmful to you, your pets or your property. In order to help be sure the harmless smoke does not enter your home or business, please make sure that each of your sink and floor drains are filled with water (as they normally should be), especially the floor drain in the basement. If you can’t see water in the drains with a flash light, pour 1 to 2 gallons of water down the drain as a precautionary measure. During and after the sewer line smoke testing you might see green paint or flags in your yard marking any problem area or deficiencies we may find. The goal is to be sure the sanitary sewer system serving your property is in good working condition. If you have any questions, please call Steven Sparks at 636-561-3737, extension 123.

Post Road Realignment

Work has begun on the Post Road realignment construction project. The entire project should take approximately 3 months (weather permitting). Post Road will be closed south of Highway N for approximately 4 weeks allowing for relocation of the roadway.   In the near future the intersection of Hanley Road & Feise Road will be closed for approximately 2 weeks for an intersection upgrade.  Check back for updates.

SCC Municipal League Boat Race for BackStoppers

With great regrets the date of the Boat Race for Backstoppers at Portage Des Sioux has been changed. With the current river levels and the projected levels and length of time the river is to remain above flood stage there is simply not enough time to prepare the race site. The new date is September 11th, same time, same place, some entertainment may change, but with the significance of this historic date and the event to benefit the Backstoppers this could actually be a blessing to unfold. Backstoppers apologizes for any inconvenience this change may cause, Mother Nature can’t be controlled.
