If a neighbor, friend or family member were to suffer a sudden cardiac arrest, would you know what to do?
The first minuets following a cardiac arrest are the most critical, and providing help to the patient is easier than you may think. In most situations, hands-only CPR is the appropriate course of action - no mouth to mouth breaths are required.
In this one-hour class, St. Charles County Ambulance District team members will discuss the science behind cardiac arrest, and why good chest compressions are so important. Other topics will include how to use an AED to provide a shock to the patient's heart, and an overview of Missouri's Good Samaritan Law.
